In transistion

For the next few weeks, I will be living in limbo at my dad's house in Frankfort.  The past few weeks have been a bit chaotic.  I moved out of my beloved house in Lexington, helped plan and held a charity ball with an amazing group of people, and have been making preparations for my new home in Louisville.  Between all that craziness, I haven't had a chance to sit down and think about what is actually happening in my life.  It still hasn't quite hit me that I am moving to a different, and much bigger, city.  I've lived in Lexington for the last sixteen years of my life, and while that may not be as long as some people, that is actually the longest I've ever lived in one city.  I lived in Frankfort for fifteen years, so it comes in at a close second.  But the funny thing about Frankfort is that once I started commuting to high school in Lexington as a freshman, the city stole my heart.  It was home even when I didn't reside there.  When I  moved to Louisville during the summer between my sophomore and junior year, Lexington is where my heart remained.  In a way, it's been home to me for longer than I've ever actually been a resident there.

Now it's time to put down roots in a place where my roots actually began.  Both my parents are from Louisville.  The majority of my extended family is living in Louisville.  It's the city I spent most of my childhood weekends in, being wheeled around in a red Radio Flyer with my cousin Emily.  From the "mall bangs" that my aunt would style for us to the many weekends we would spend playing school in my cousin's basement, the memories of my childhood often were located in Louisville.  It's good to be coming home.

So during this strange and transitional time, I'll keep updating on my style ideas for the new house.  I've got two extra bedrooms and a formal living room and dining room to decorate.  This house's theme will be based on grays.  So without further ado, my new home as of May 31st...

Cheers to new beginnings!
