The REAL Honeymoon Pictures

Now that I've finally uploaded most of the photos of our honeymoon, I realized I didn't take as many as I thought. And I remembered why. I spent 90% of the time we were stopping for photos just staring at the scenery in awe of what we were witnessing.

There aren't enough words to properly illustrate the magnitude and grandeur of the beauty of these two National Parks. It really is something you have to see in person yourself. And lucky for us American's, it's relatively accessible. Drew and I kept saying how nice the trails were and how easily navigable they were for even those that aren't as mobile as we are.

So here are the real pics, don't judge my photography skills. I love doing it, but an expert I am not!

Pints Urban Taproom in Portland

So if I remember Drew's field notes correctly, this is a female Osprey guarding her nest. FYI, this is about 50 feet up in the air. Thanks zoom lens!

Some sorta native grass or bamboo...

Uhh, it's a bird. These were all from Sauvie Island Nature Preserves in Portland.

Our neighborhood hummingbird catching some breakfast. We stayed on an organic farm on Sauvie Island while in Portland in a tiny house! It was super cute and perfect for a couple of honeymooners.

Somewhere in Olympic National Park. The trees in the Ancient Growth Forests are so massive.

The Paradise Region of Rainier.

I think this is from one of pit stops on the way from Olympic to Rainier. Super scary drive up to the lookout point, but totally worth it for the views.

I'm not sure what I did wrong and why half of these damn shots are blurry. But the last one pretty much sums it up.

Honeymoon in The Mountains

We will freely admit that we are not the type of couple that is great at lying on a beach and drinking boat drinks. While it's lovely, after about 45 minutes, I get antsy. Drew needs a few hours before that happens. Regardless of the time it takes us to get bored, we knew we wanted to do something more our style than the normal beach vacation for our first trip together as husband and wife.

We booked a flight to Seattle, rented a car, and drove to every National Park we had time to visit before heading down to Portland for a couple days for brewery touring and some city action. What we didn't really factor in is how exhausted we would be after the wedding on the second day of honeymoon. We knew the first day would be a wash, but man, were we worn out the next day too! Putting on a wedding for 300+ guests in no small undertaking, folks.

Although we were tired, we sucked it up and took advantage of the beautiful terrain and did as much hiking, exploring, and photographing as we could handle. We were both pretty impressed with how much of each area we got to see in our short time there. Not to mention the absolute awe we were in of the beauty of the area and our country. Words and these lame iPhone photos can never capture the true amazement of this part of the country.

So without further ado, here's a tour of the Pacific Northwest in a week in pictures! Beware, super photo dump ahead!

{Driving to Sequim, WA from Seattle}

{Olumpic National Park, Madison Falls Trail}

{Madison Falls}

{Cresent Lake, still in Olympic}

{Hurricane Ridge in Olympic}

{Pit stop on the way to Rainier}

{Paradise Trail in Mt. Rainier National Park}

{Longmire Region in Rainier National}

{First flight in Portland at Occidental Brewing!}

{Back in Olympic National. These mediocre pics are out of order and slightly blurry. Any iPhone photo experts know if this is because of live photo? I really need to be better about uploading my DLSR photos...sigh.}

{Fat Head Brewery in Portland}

{Had to have a beer at the Lebowski themed bar!}

{First night of the honeymoon in Seattle}

{Olympic National}

Stay tuned for real photos, and wedding photos when I get them!

Happy hump day, y'all!
