Sass in the Bluegrass: Honeymoon in The Mountains

We will freely admit that we are not the type of couple that is great at lying on a beach and drinking boat drinks. While it's lovely, after about 45 minutes, I get antsy. Drew needs a few hours before that happens. Regardless of the time it takes us to get bored, we knew we wanted to do something more our style than the normal beach vacation for our first trip together as husband and wife.
We booked a flight to Seattle, rented a car, and drove to every National Park we had time to visit before heading down to Portland for a couple days for brewery touring and some city action. What we didn't really factor in is how exhausted we would be after the wedding on the second day of honeymoon. We knew the first day would be a wash, but man, were we worn out the next day too! Putting on a wedding for 300+ guests in no small undertaking, folks.
Although we were tired, we sucked it up and took advantage of the beautiful terrain and did as much hiking, exploring, and photographing as we could handle. We were both pretty impressed with how much of each area we got to see in our short time there. Not to mention the absolute awe we were in of the beauty of the area and our country. Words and these lame iPhone photos can never capture the true amazement of this part of the country.
